These pages are a cyber photo album of my hobby and the type of motorcycles and riding I enjoy most.

I ride street mostly, but also do a few dualsport events each year. Around 1999-2000 I combined my sportbike and dualsport interests and built a Supermotard - still a form of dualsport - but with the emphasis on sport! At first I was changing between stock wheels with knobbies, and motard wheels, on the old XR400R that I dualsport. I've ridden the Rainbow Trail in Colorado in off-road trim one week, and the North Georgia Mountain Roads, near my home, in Motard trim the next week. Now, I'm hooked. In 2001 I picked up an XR650R and converted it into a full-time Supermotard using 17" Ackront wheels laced to Talon hubs, and a 320mm full floater with stock XR caliper on the front.
In the mountains, this thing rips!

Some of my friends have gotten in on the action too. Here's Pat Coleman's WR400F and Bill Hayes' XR650R. Click on over to my gowenfast pages to see us in action at North Florida and Barber Motorsports Parks !

The Supermotards are great and, for me, they're an extension of my passion for sportbikes, Ducati being my favorite. I got my first Duc, a used 250 single, in the 70s, and I've had the Ducati 900 SS Darmah since '87. There have been several Ducs along the way, but the SSD and the '94 Ducati 888 SPO LTD seem to hang around..

Here's a couple of cuties that are almost as much fun to look at as they are to ride. With their smallish headlights and firm, narrow seats, they remind me of the ones I lusted for in my youth but, unfortunately, was not allowed to have.
But my older brother's friends would sometimes bring theirs over to our house and I would ogle them for hours.

It would be a few years before I got one of my own and, once I did, I knew I would never be satisfied with just one. I've been collecting and trading them ever since.

Creature comforts generally aren't very high on the list of things I look for in a motorcycle, coming in somewhere behind performance, handling, styling, and, well, fun factor!
But sometimes I do like to string a week or more of several hundred mile days together, and that requires a reasonable amount of comfort along with the ability to carry a few essentials. And,  I still want sportbike handling for when the road gets twisty.
The R1100S fits the bill for me; comfy enough to go anywhere,  with respectable sportbike capabilities.

The number 20 bike shown here is the bike Randy Mamola rode in the European Boxer Cup Series, and the bike the '03 BMW Boxer Cup Replika is, well, replicating.
In 1999 I caught the 135 bike on film in the west horseshoe at Daytona during the Pro-Thunder race where it finished 4th it's first time out.

Here's a fun bike. Kind of old school meets high tech. The BMW HP2 Sport is the first production double overhead cam, 4 valve boxer. All bodywork is carbon fiber, even what is painted white, and the bike is actually lighter and stronger than my Ducati 888!

The 250cc T20 'X6 Hustler' was the world's first production 6 speed and the bike that put Suzuki on the map. This one was originally owned by a Shriner in the Atlanta area and was in complete uncrashed condition with 6500 miles when I got it. Replacing the battery and cleaning the carbs had it running in no time. New rubber and rectifier, and paint and polish made it healthy again.

The previous owner of this '67 Yamaha YL1-E (electric start!) Twin Jet 100 says it was the spoils of a golf bet and sat in a basement for many years after. It's completely original with 1400 miles.
